As part of CPH Jazzfestival we invite you to a concert with legendary THE END in our historic barns at BaneGaarden! 🎶
🌱 Cool down in the green oasis of the city, find tempting food in the food stalls and cold drinks in the open-air bar “Lugen” and get ready for a concert 👇
The End has been vibraphonist and percussionist Morten Grønvad's musical heart since 1986 and for 40 years has captivated audiences with its beautiful and challenging music, ranging from lyrical, melodic ballads to up-tempo tracks with an energy level that takes one's breath away — all within the jazz fusion genre.
The End's unique sound is largely due to Morten Grønvad's midified vibraphone, which enables the use of synthesizers in combination with the vibraphone, producing a richly varied sound universe ideally suited to both his lyrical and ongoing playing style.
After a few years of absence, you can again enjoy the reunion with THE END's original saxophonist Thomas Hass, who unfolds his beautiful and all-encompassing melodic playing with a presence and virtuosity that shows a deep respect for the music.
One of the hallmarks of THE END's music has always been the strong rhythmic drive that the Swedish/Italian drumming phenomenon Niclas Campagnol makes sure to carry on here. Niclas' playing is absolutely world class with an unrivalled musicality and a hair-raising technique. His powerhouse beats are followed to the door by Cuban super bassist Yasser Pino, whose rhythmic foundation is based on growing up with the Cuban music tradition, on which he has built an original funky fusion style. Together, the two form a wonderfully stylish and groovy bottom that is the foundation for a powerful and immersive musical experience.
