CPH Jazz Festival — The trio HØK in the Væksthuset with bubbles & oysters
Otto Busses Vej 45, 2450 København

Come to the four-night concert with HØK in our beautiful Væksthuset — enjoy a glass of organic wine or bubbles and oysters in Vildhaven before the concert and let it be Friday night to the sound of dynamic and intimate indie-folk jazz. 🎶

Over the past year, the trio HØK has emerged as one of the most promising acts on the Danish jazz scene with a large number of concerts.

HØK is dynamic and intimate indie-folk jazz with Nordic melodies, impro and investigative interplay. HØK released their debut album “Ud Af Byen” in 2024 with original tracks that together form an organic and thoughtful sound universe. The music is located in the borderland between modern jazz and songs that lead the mind to the high school songbook, narratively and at eye level. The music sounds on different themes - for example, the changing moods of nature or reflections on experiences that have made a special impression.

The band says of the music: “The focal point of our music is the vibrant and organic interplay. We are constantly looking to create something unique in the moment, and to make room for as many nuances as possible and each other's personalities in the music. The sound of HØK is a warm, acoustic jazz trio with modern harmonica and melodies from our common background in jazz and a fondness for the high school songbook”

What I said about HØK:

Julian Svejgaard (Snooze, P8) mentioned the track “Morgensang” from the debut album with the words: “Super beautiful, Nordic, mood-filled, lyrical music”

Kenneth Dahl Knudsen (performing musician, composer and lecturer) about the debut album “Out of the City”: “The high level is at no point in doubt on this record. HAWK manages to play soaring, sonorous music that is on the one hand spherical and dreamy, and on the other hits you right in the face with a potent and compelling sound on every instrument.”

Line-up:
Emil Hornhaver on guitar
Morten Østerlund on bass
Hans Kristian Knold on drums

👉 The ticket gives access to the concert as well as to a glass of optional wine or bubbles and snack — drinks can be purchased at the bar throughout the concert. 🎶

BaneGarden's six food stalls and the open-air bar “Lugen” are open on the square all evening — continue the good atmosphere in the city's green oasis. 🌱
